FREE PICTURES AND CLIP ART

Written by THRIVE Program Teacher, Tyson Schoeber • Last Updated: 2017-09-21

Many of the BEST pictures that you can find with Google are subject to strict copyright restrictions. They often have watermarks on them and you probably have to pay to get a clean image.

Nevertheless, there are still lots of great collections of pictures that you are welcome to use in your own not-for-profit projects. Here are some of my favorites:

www.phillipmartin.info

one of the most popular clip art sites

Phillip Martin's kid-friendly, cartoon clip art is seen all over the Internet. While his pages often feel crowded by ads, his artwork is terrific. This A to Z index lists all of his images and it's a good place to start. Yet many of his pages now also include a simple search tool.

THE FINE PRINT:  Martin's artwork is free for educational and non-commercial use but donations are welcome.

PD PHOTO.org

ONE MAN'S VERY BEST PICTURES

There are some terrific pictures in this vast collection. New pictures continue to be added.

THE FINE PRINT:  Almost every picture on this site can be used for any purpose.

BIGFOTO.COM

PEOPLE AND PLACES FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD

Bigfoto offers high resolution pictures of many different places around the world (as well as some other stuff). There is no search tool but it's easy to find your way around.

THE FINE PRINT:  You have free use of all the pictures on this site as long as you give credit.

UNPROFOUND.COM

ARTISTIC PICTURES

This creative site makes its pictures available for anyone to use in just about any way. The pictures are grouped by color but the site also has a basic search tool.

THE FINE PRINT:  This site is supported by donations. There are no ads and no registration is required!
